This tutorial was developed by the Saint Louis University Medical Center Library
(MCL), for first year medical students attending the School of Medicine at Saint Louis
University (SLU).
To work through the whole tutorial from top to bottom just
follow the "Next" button at the bottom of the page and the instructions within
the text. If you want to skip from one section to another, simply
choose a section from the list on the left side of the screen. However, quiz questions and the final exam is taken from anywhere in the tutorial.
In HIR, emphasis will be given to the use of the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH). Developed by the National Library of Medicine (NLM), MeSH is a distinctive feature of the MEDLINE database, making it the most efficient technique for searching MEDLINE.
At some
points you will be able to interact with the content on the page, which
will be denoted by the presence of a green box with instructions, like
the one here.
