Reserve books and materials are kept at the Circulation Desk where they may be checked-out.
- Can I reserve items other than books for my students?
We currently check-out bones, skulls, skeletons, laptops, dry erase markers, portable
heaters, lamps, slide projectors, headphones, cds, and videos.
- How can I put materials on Reserve?
Complete a Reserve Request Form either online or in person at the HSC Library and submit
to Annie Ruzicka or Trish Svendsen for both Library owned and personal copies.
- Can I put a book from another library on reserve for my students?
No. We cannot add books or items owned by other libraries to our reserve collection.
If the Medical Center Library does not own a book you would like to put on
reserve for your class, contact your liaison librarian
to put in a request for the library to buy a copy.
- How do I know which books are on reserve?
All items and books placed on reserve are listed in our card catalog under the
course reserves tab. You can
search by the course name, instructor’s name, or by using a title search in the catalog.
- How long can I keep a reserve item after I’ve checked it out?
Most reserve items have a 4 hour loan period.
- Can I take a reserve item out of the Library after I check it out?
No. Items on reserve are to remain in the library at all times.
