- What is ERes?
ERes is the electronic reserves service offered by the Medical Center Library.
Instructors are able to place course material on ERes in convenient PDF format making
course materials available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to students from any computer
with an internet connection.
- What materials may be placed on ERes?
Many things may be placed on ERes including: Course syllabi, exams, lecture notes,
Power Point presentations, articles, links to websites, excerpts from books (dependent
on length of selection), material considered public domain.
- How may I submit materials?
Materials may be submitted either electronically or in hard copy form. A completed
ERes Request Form must accompany all submitted materials.
To submit electronically materials should be emailed to the following address: ereshsc@slu.edu.
Be sure to notify Annie Ruzicka
(ruzickae@slu.edu) or Trish Svendsen
(svendsen@slu.edu)
when material has been submitted electronically, to verify receipt of your course material.
To submit materials in hard copy, bring them to the Circulation Desk at the Medical Center Library. Be sure that all pages are single sided, and not stapled.
- Do I need to fill out a form?
A fully completed electronic reserve form must be submitted along with the material for
each website in order to insure proper copyright compliance.
Forms may be downloaded from our website http://www.slu.edu/libraries/pius/ereserves/forms.html
or picked up at the Circulation Desk of the Medical Center Library.
- How is material organized on ERes?
Each class is assigned a course page to which all material is uploaded. On each course
page materials are organized in folders according to the instructor’s organization preference.
- What is the best way to organize my course page?
Many instructors choose to organize course material in folders designating the week of
the semester the material is needed. Others choose to organize according to subject headings.
- How long will my course page stay live?
All course pages will stay live until the end of the semester, at which time they will
be automatically archived. Websites may be un-archived if requested by the instructor
or department.
- May I add material to my course page throughout the semester?
Yes, you may continue to submit additions throughout the semester.
- What is my ERes password?
Contact your instructor for your password. The Library does not give out ERes passwords.
