The Archives maintains a database of descriptive records for each collection, series, container or folder for all processed collections.  These records not only provide information about the physical characteristics of the material, but they also describe the subject or content of the material.  The searching capability available here permits the researcher to perform a simple string, single word, or phrase search of the descriptive fields in all the records.  With the information retrieved by such a search, Archives staff will be able to locate the needed material for the researcher.
