Description:

Journal Citation Reports (JCR) consists of two editions

  • JCR Science Edition (includes over 5,900 journals in science and technology)
  • JCR Social Sciences Edition (includes over 1,700 journals in the social sciences)

which are part of the larger Web of Knowledge.  JCR allows evaluation and comparison of over 7,500 journals in science, technology, and the social sciences with respect to their importance in specific disciplines.  The impact factor identifies the most highly cited journals in a discipline.  For a description and discussion of how the ISI Impact Factor is calculated see The ISI Impact Factor.  (GB)
