PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's search service that "provides access to references drawn primarily from MEDLINE, PreMEDLINE, HealthSTAR, as well as Publisher-Supplied citations."  For electronically supplied journals that are indexed selectively in MEDLINE, PubMed includes all articles from those journals, not just the articles that are included in MEDLINE.  In Fall 2003, PubMed will began adding over 1.5 million OLDMEDLINE citations beginning with 1953.  Each entry is identified with the tag [PubMed - OLDMEDLINE for Pre1966] and does have an abstract.

"The Journals Database allows you to look up journal names, MEDLINE abbreviations, ISSN numbers, or get a list of journals covering a specific topic.  You may also browse for journals by Journal Subject Terms.

Content from the Molecular Biology of the Cell, 3rd edition, by Alberts et al., is also linked to appropriate abstracts in PubMed.  (GB)
