The Web sites below provide information about electronic full-text journals and newspapers available on the World Wide Web, both free and fee-based.  For full-text e-journals available to Saint Louis University faculty, students, and staff, please search the E-Journal Portal.
 
Full-Text Journal Finding Aids

"This service covers free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals."  (Text from site 10/5/03)  Its purpose is to increase the usage and impact of freely available scholarly journals whose content is reviewed prior to publication by identifying them and making them available for browsing and/or searching.  The site currently provides over 500 journals in the following subject areas:  Agriculture and Food Sciences, Arts and Architecture, Biology and Life Sciences, Business and Economics, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Health Sciences, History and Archaeology, Languages and Literatures, Law and Political Science, Mathematics and statistics, Philosophy and Religion, Physics and Astronomy, Social Sciences, and Technology and Engineering.

Provides links to electronically available journals by discipline in addition to a list of featured journals.  Many journals have tables of contents only or require a subscription (personal or institutional) to access the full-text.

From the OpCit Project (Open Citation Project) at Southampton University (UK) and Cornell University (USA), which was funded by the Joint NSF - JISC International Digital Libraries Research Programme, this site "lists and comments on other lists of individual archives [for the purpose of further research]. This list and its categorisation gives a broad overview of the structure, size and progress of full-text open access eprint archives." NewJour

A finding tool to locate journals and newsletters available electronically on the Internet.  Includes an alphabetical list in addition to a search utility.  Records located are announcements posted on the NewJour mailing list that include a link to the journal's or its publisher's home page.  Some journals provide tables of contents with selected full text.  A subscription may be required  to access full text.
