Freedom's Journal (1827-1829)
The first African-American owned and operated newspaper published in the United States. It was published weekly in New York City from 1827-1829.

Once you have an article citation, search the SLU Libraries Catalog to see if the SLU Libraries have the newspaper the article was published in. If an article is not available at SLU, you can request it via Interlibrary Loan. You can also request newspaper microfilm reels via Interlibrary Loan.
