| CALL
NUMBERS |
Pius Library uses the Library of Congress (LC) classification system to
organize and determine the location of books and periodicals in the library.
You may have used this system or the Dewey Decimal System in other
libraries. In the LC system each title is assigned a unique call number
based on its subject. For example, all of the books relating to literature
in the library have a call number beginning with the letter P.

In addition to indicating
the subject of the book, the call number also tells you the location of
the book in the library. The library's Location Guide lists the locations
for ranges of call numbers.
