| HOW
TO AVOID PLAGIARISM? |
|
Keep the following tips in mind in order to avoid plagiarism and use
quotes and concepts effectively:
- When directly
extracting material use quotation marks and cite the source.
- When re-wording
material make sure to cite the source.
- Do not cut and
paste directly from the Web.
- Don't resuse
term papers or purchase papers on the Web.
- Make sure to
write down the complete source information for accurate references.
If you are having
difficulty deciding when or how to cite sources, please contact your
professor or any reference librarian. Pius Library keeps copies
of all the major style guides at the Reference Desk including MLA,
APA Publication Manual and Turabian. See also Pius' Useful
Web Sites links to Style Guides
& Manuals.
