Is Major Exploration a fit for me?
Students who begin their SLU career in Major Exploration, enter the office for a variety of reasons:
- They like everything: "I'm interested in health, having my own business, working with kids, teaching, psychology, law school, creative writing, Spanish,... Oh! And I want to take some art classes!"
- They may have no idea: "I don't know what I like or don't like."
- They like some majors, but genuinely want to explore other options: "I took a psychology class in high school, but I want to check out my other options before deciding."
- They know what they want to do after graduation, but are unsure of what may be the best path for an undergraduate degree: "I want to be a doctor/ dentist/ veterinarian" BUT "What do I major in to do that?"
While students come into Major Exploration for a variety of reasons, the one commonality between all of them is a desire to be supported while they are exploring themselves and their options at SLU.
If any of the statements above sound like you and you have an interest in taking time to learn about yourself and your academic options, Major Exploration may be a good fit for you! Be sure to tell your Admissions Counselor you want to join us.
