Donna R. Halloran, MD, MSPH
Assistant Professor, SLUCOR
Pediatrics, Division of General Academic Pediatrics, School of Medicine
Internal Medicine, School of Medicine

My current research has to do with infant outcomes based on length of gestation and complications in pregnancy. I'm using several regional administrative databases to examine the relationships between various infant outcomes and postterm and late preterm gestation. The overarching goal of my current research is to identify the pregnancy characteristics which effect infant health and quality of life and to help identify the pregnancy characteristics such as length of gestation and weight gain which optimize infant health.

Dr. Halloran came to Saint Louis University in 2005 to develop a research career in infant outcomes. Prior to this, she completed a residency in Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University and a general pediatrics research fellowship and Masters of Science in Public Health at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. At Saint Louis University, she is director of the resident research program and the evidence-based medicine curriculum. She has been assistant director of the newborn nursery at SSM St. Mary's Health Science Center since 2007.

She has received numerous honors and awards including the Southern Society for Pediatric Research Young Research Faculty award in 2006, 2007, and 2009. She is an active member of many editorial and journal review boards, including the Journal of Pediatrics.
