Organ Transplant Research at SLUCOR

Outcomes research focused on clinical, epidemiologic and policy research.

SLUCOR's transplant outcomes and policy research branch improves the outcomes of organ transplant patients through clinical, epidemiologic and policy research.

Our team is assembled from an array of active researchers, including epidemiologists, economists, biostatisticians, physicians and surgeons from both within Saint Louis University and around the world. Since its founding in 2004, our organ transplant team has published more than 70 papers in a broad spectrum of journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine.

Research spotlight: Funded by a $1 million NIH grant to Dr. Krista Lentine, SLUCOR researchers recently found significant disparities in the outcomes of organ donors based on their ethnic background. The result of this study is helping shape national policies regarding organ transplantation.

Director: Mark Schnitzler, Ph.D and Krista Lentine, MD, MSc
