My co-residents and attendings, the supportive and fun culture of this program, training at a beautiful, new, state-of-the-art hospital and level 1 trauma center.

Favorite part about SLU:
The people. The program leadership genuinely care about resident learning and wellness.  The St. Louis community provides the opportunity to serve a diverse patient population with high acuity. There is a multitude of opportunities for procedures, exposure to blunt and penetrating trauma, and diverse pathologies.

Favorite part about SLU: The acuity is so high, I learn something new every day. Plus, the faculty and my fellow co-residents are so much fun to work with that even a rough shift is a fun shift.

Favorite part about SLU: The incredible diversity and acuity of our patient population, and the amount of medical and surgical specialties/subspecialties in-house make SLU a great place to train. The residents and faculty are very close and we do social events with each other all the time, whether it be an impromptu meal or drink after a shift or a Christmas party planned months in advance. The city of Saint Louis is great for residents with and without children, for sports fans, and for those who like good food.

Favorite part about SLU: The best thing about training at SLU is the amount and diversity of trauma that we encounter. At SLU we encounter multiple penetrating traumas on a daily basis. Aside from trauma, SLU has a higher proportion of extremely complex cases.
