Miserere et Guerre exhibition reviewed in the Riverfront Times
Jessica Baran considers MOCRA's 2011 presentation of the complete series of Georges Rouault's Miserere et Guerre in the May 4, 2011, issue of the Riverfront Times. Baran notes that in this set of prints, "Rouault is utterly his own -- creating a strange, wrought world of Christ figures, carnival clowns, kings and weary skeletons cloaked in every black shade."

Kellard exhibition reviewed in national magazine Art Papers
A review of The Learned Art of Compassion by art critic Jessica Baran appears in the January/February 2012 issue of Art Papers magazine. Baran writes: "Irascible, irrepressible, and boldly honest, the work not only communicates a plain sense of humanity but a brave and uncluttered sense of self. Our current moment may well be marked by as much conflict with identity and meaning--spiritual and otherwise---as Kellard's not-so-distant era, making his story as pertinent as ever."

Art critic Jessica Baran writes in the October 19, 2011, issue of the Riverfront Times, that "Kellard forged an indelible style; this survey conveys a sense of a mature, self-assured artist with a life's worth of range." The result, she says, is "both profound and generous."
