Saint Louis University's social media presence continues to grow. Earlier this month, SLU's official Facebook page earned its 20,000th follower, and the "likes" are still coming.
SLU's Twitter account, which posts University news throughout the day, has also made great gains and more than doubled its followers last year. SLU's own Billiken also speaks out via Facebook and Twitter accounts, and frequently interacts with prospective and current students, as well as alumni and fans.
"There are so many great things happening at SLU," said Anne Marie Apollo-Noel, web marketing coordinator with the Office of Marketing and Communications. "Social media just gives us more ways to tell people about them. Facebook, Twitter and our other platforms are a great opportunity to give our followers an insiders' view of the amazing things our students, faculty and alumni are doing."

Representing SLU Online
Beyond the official University accounts, there are more than 100 other social media accounts, representing SLU's departments, colleges and schools, as well as dozens more maintained by student organizations.
Links to many of these pages can be found online at the SLU Social Media Directory. Account administrators are encouraged to follow and promote activity from other University accounts, as well as to familiarize themselves with the University's best practices, and social media guidelines for all accounts representing SLU.
