Students, faculty and staff recycled more than 40 pounds of clothing during the Clothing Swap Dec. 5.

Any items that weren't reclaimed by event participants were donated to The Bridge in downtown St. Louis for the homeless and displaced residents of the city. The Bridge offers meals, shelter, and basic services to individuals to support them on their path out of homelessness.

The Clothing Swap is one of several events planned this year to raise awareness about sustainable alternatives to throwing away unwanted items.

Other unwanted or unused items can be donated to Trash to Treasure until Tuesday, Dec. 17.
