Student Teams Share Community-Partnered Projects

The Center for Interprofessional Education and Research held their sixth semester of poster presentations Tuesday, May 1, in the Allied Health Professions Building. This year's presentation exceeded the number of posters presented and visitors who attended of the Fall 2011 event.
Student teams in the Integrated Interprofessional Practicum Experience class presented 27 poster displays describing projects that were developed in consultation with community agencies. Teams consisted of students in athletic training, clinical laboratory science, health information management, investigative medical sciences, nuclear medicine tech, nursing, nutrition and dietetics, occupational therapy, physical therapy and radiation therapy programs.
Participating community agencies included 100 Black Men, American Diabetes Association, Brain Injury Association, Casa de Salud, Family Care Health Centers, Joint Neighborhood Ministry, Living Well Village, Mid-town Catholic Charities, Mother-to-Mother, Our Lady's Inn, Neighborhood Houses, Early Childhood Education Facility, Neighborhood Houses-Girls Night Out, Neighborhood Houses-After School Clubs, Patient Centered Medical Home-SLU Care, Peter and Paul Community Services, South Grand Senior Ministry-SGSM Network, St. Louis Area Agency on Aging, Corrections Medicine-St. Louis County DOH, and St. Louis Public Schools.
