The Micah Halloween Party for the children of Mullanphy Elementary and the Shaw Neighborhood 2013 broke records for the annual event by entertaining 365 children and their families Oct. 26.

More than 365 preschool and elementary school children and members of their families, attended the annual Halloween party. The highest number of children attending the party in previous years was 275.

Ninety Micah Program volunteers provided a three-hour exciting and safe Halloween party for the children that included games, face painting, crafts, snacks, treats, prizes and a haunted house. The co-chairs for the celebration were Micah Program juniors Alex Gaston, Susan Szendry, Chris Canedo and Samantha Radcliffe.

The party is co-sponsored by the Micah Program of Saint Louis University and Mullanphy Elementary, a St. Louis Public School in the Shaw Neighborhood, and is funded through a private grant. The annual party serves as the Micah Program's "Make a Difference Day" event.

Higher purpose. Greater good.
