These awards are a few of the highest honors offered by the Student Government Association. The Faculty Excellence Awards recognize faculty members who have demonstrated excellence in their dedication and service to the SLU community, especially in their outstanding performance as an educator inside and outside of the classroom. The Excellence in Technology Award recognizes one SLU professor for his or her dedication and service to students and advanced use of technology within the classroom. The Diversity and Social Justice Award recognizes one SLU professor for his or her dedication and service to the SLU community and the Oath of Inclusion. The recipient of this award is recognized for living out the Oath of Inclusion and integrating issues of social justice and diversity in/outside of the classroom. Lastly, the Advising Excellence Awards recognize three Academic Advisors for their dedication and service to the SLU community, outstanding performance as an advisor, and going above and beyond in their duty to SLU students.
This year, SGA received a record number of applications — more than 100. Each of the applications received greatly impressed the Selection Committee and were a direct testament to the quality of SLU educators and advisors — hard working, driven, and committed to students and service to others.
