University Turns Trash Into Treasure
The Center for Service and Community Engagement is working towards greater sustainability on campus through the Trash to Treasure sustainable move-out program. In collaboration with Facilities Services, and Housing and Residence Life, the CSCE collected almost 1,000 pounds of furniture, appliances, clothing, food and toiletries from students who were leaving for Christmas Break.
The Trash to Treasure program ran Dec. 11-18, with collection boxes being placed in all of the residence halls on campus. Collected items were donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the SLU Campus Kitchen.
Thanks to all of the students and staff who donated or assisted with collecting donations.
