As SLU’s newest Billikens and their families began arriving, they were met by Oriflamme student leaders — clad in their signature orange T-shirts — who were on hand once again to help them with moving into the residence halls.

Some of SLU’s newest students will call Spring Hall home this year.

The new $44 million facility was completed earlier this month and will house more than 450 first- and second-year students.

Students moving into SLU’s largest residential facility, the Griesedieck Complex, got an up-close look at the University’s newest building project, Grand Hall. The $71 million new residence hall is being constructed directly behind Griesedieck and is set to open next year.

Move-in for first-year students continues Thursday, Aug. 18, with returning students scheduled to begin moving in Friday, Aug. 19, and throughout the weekend. Undergraduate classes officially begin Monday, Aug. 22.
