03/01/2018

Members of the Saint Louis University family as well as SSM Health St. Louis employees and community neighbors are being asked to name a new Midtown district that connects SLU’s north and south campuses.

The half-mile area is bordered by Laclede Avenue, Chouteau Avenue, Grand Boulevard and Vandeventer and Spring avenues. Voting will be open from March 1-12.  To see a video about the area and cast a vote, follow this link.

“With the recent addition of two new residence halls at Saint Louis University and construction underway for a new SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital and outpatient care center, we’re seeing renewed rejuvenation and investment in the area,” said Brooks Goedeker, executive director of the St. Louis Midtown Redevelopment Corporation.

Several projects already are under development for the district, including the City Foundry STL, Element by Westin Hotel and revitalization of the historic Armory building.

“We invite the community to be part of this project by helping choose a name for St. Louis’s newest district.”

The name of the district will be announced on March 20.
