MOVE Committee to Sponsor Halloween Door-Decorating Contest
There is still time to submit an entry to the contest, which ends at midnight on Friday, Oct. 21, to allow time for employees to stay late and decorate. Take a picture email it to movecommittee@slu.edu.
Employees are encouraged to decorate and transform their work door(s) with a Halloween theme. Participants should obtain prior approval from their supervisor before decorating any University doors.
Guidelines
- Decorated doors must be appropriate and consistent with SLU’s workplace policies.
- Decorations must not cause damage to the door or surrounding surfaces.
- Doors must remain fully operational.
- No flames, fog machines or disruptive noises.
Panels of volunteer judges will evaluate door on the following criteria:
- Visual impact
- Creativity
- Craftsmanship
Submission Requirements
The official door decorating begins on Friday, Sept. 30, and ends at midnight on Friday, Oct. 21. All entries must be submitted by email to movecommittee@slu.edu, with the required information:
- Department name
- The name[s] of the employee[s] participating on the team
- Door location (include campus, building name, floor, and room number)
- Team leader’s office phone number
- Photo(s) or video of decorated door
One winning door will be selected in each of the following categories: funniest door, most creative door and grand prize door winner. The prize for the winning doors is a cauldron of Halloween goodies, a trophy, a certificate of achievement and bragging rights.
Winners will be announced on Monday, Oct. 31.
