|Angela Sharkey, M.D.|
Angela Sharkey, M.D., associate dean for faculty affairs and development at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, has been elected to a leadership position in the Association of American Medical College's Group on Women in Medicine and Science.
One of 10 members of the group's steering committee, Sharkey will serve a three-year term as a member-at-large.
The mission of the Group on Women in Medicine and Science is to advance the participation of women faculty, students, residents and post-doctoral fellows within academic medicine. The group advocates for the advancement and leadership of women in research, clinical practice and administration.
The mission of the organization complements Sharkey's work at Saint Louis University, where she works with faculty on evaluating their career objectives and life goals in ways that will help them search for their own solutions to more effectively develop their careers. Sharkey also is professor of pediatrics.
