University Nursing Group

The University Nursing Group is designed to provide professional nursing services to individuals andUNG Photo  groups, as well as, technical assistance and consultation to health care providers and community agencies. This business venture, offered by highly qualified nurse faculty specializing in community health, mental health, geriatric health, maternal and child health, administration/ management and medical/surgical fields, will contract their services for health care, consultation, and education.

UNG Photo The University Nursing Group is the structure for the faculty practice plan of Saint Louis University School of Nursing. A full range of nursing care services are available through the University Nursing Group to private and public agencies that desire such services on a contractual basis. These services include: adult, pediatric and family nurse practitioner services; nursing management consultation services, continuing nursing education, and other professional nursing activities.

Nursing practice includes all aspects of the delivery of nursing care through the roles of clinician,UNG Photo  educator, researcher, consultant and administrator. Nursing practice encompasses health promotion and disease prevention activities, acute and episodic care, restorative and rehabilitative services, long-term chronic disease management and care across the life span.

Services offered through the University Nursing Group

Continuing Education
Courses, institutes, and workshops are provided for registered nurses throughout the year. Annual conferences on perinatal nursing and advanced nursing practice are provided on site. A basic parish nursing preparation course is offered annually online. Off-site workshops or courses are provided upon request. [link to Continuing Education] "RN Re-entry" classes are held periodically for inactive registered nurses who want to return to nursing practice.

Consultation
Faculty with expertise in various specialties may provide consultation services as requested. These specialties include asthma management, statistics, research methodology, curriculum, and evaluation.

Legal Expert Witness
Patients, families, physicians, healthcare executives, or legal representatives may inquire about nurse specialists through the University Nursing Group.
