Student Representation

Graduate Student Association
Each year the Graduate Student Association requests the appointment of a representative and an alternate representative from the Graduate Programs in Nursing. Service as a representative provides an opportunity for a graduate student in Nursing to participate with representatives from other graduate departments in matters of interest and concern to the Graduate Student Body. It also provides an opportunity to obtain a small amount of funding that can be used to benefit the graduate student body in Nursing. In order for the funds to be obtained by a graduate department, the representative (or the alternate) must be present for the monthly meetings. Meeting times are usually planned in relation to representatives' schedules or are negotiated by the representatives.

School of Nursing Committees
Representation by graduate students is needed on a number of committees in the School of Nursing:

  • Master's Program Committee
  • General Faculty Assembly
  • Research Committee
If you are interested in being considered for appointment to any of these committees, please contact the Associate Dean for Graduate Education, Dr. Joni Thanavaro, at
Higher purpose. Greater good.
