Teaching: Bobbi Shatto has taught in the area of nursing since 1998. She is currently core faculty in the Advanced Generalist Master's Program where she teaches the Medical Surgical courses, Leadership curriculum, clinical over sight and serves as a chair over student Capstone Projects. She also teaches Introduction to Nursing to all incoming freshmen who have been accepted to the School of Nursing.
Practice: Dr. Shatto has a broad range of experiences centered on critical care and nursing management. Her practice has been at Saint Louis University Hospital working in Level I Critical Care units. She was a staff nurse in the medical/surgical intensive care unit, assistant nurse manager in the coronary care unit, nurse manager of the neurosurgical intensive care unit and an administrator over outpatient services at SLU Care.
Professional and Scholarly Activities: Bobbi Shatto was awarded the Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning innovative Teaching Fellowship in 2014 where she developed a flipped classroom approach for the Advanced Generalist Master's students. She is a member of the Jesuit Honor Society, Alpha Sigma Nu as well as The Delta Lambda Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International. She has presented at various conferences including the Clinical Nurse Leader Symposiums, Master's Conference and the Midwest Nursing Research Society.
Research: Dr. Shatto is currently involved in three research studies with several planned to begin in the next year. She is currently working on Transition to Practice and Resilience of new nursing graduates, Career Trajectory of Model C CNL graduates and Transition to Practice of Model C CNL graduates.
