Teaching: Dr. Koetting has been teaching for the last 12 years in various courses in the undergraduate and graduate levels in both clinical and didactic areas. She is dually certified as a family nurse practitioner and pediatric nurse practitioner. She has taught pediatric lecture and clinical along with psychiatric mental health clinical, undergraduate and graduate pharmacology and health assessment, and primary care for family nurse practitioner students. She has also served as a preceptor for several nurse practitioner students.
Practice: Dr. Koetting has practiced as a primary care provider serving mainly underserved and vulnerable populations. She has worked in public health providing primary care to children and adults in various locations in the St. Louis metropolitan area. She has training in child protection and forensic nursing.
Professional and Scholarly Activities: Dr. Koetting is a member of several national, state and local nurse practitioner organizations including American Association of Nurse Practitioners, National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, International Association of Forensic Nurses, Missouri Nurses Association, American Medical Education and Research on Substance Abuse, and St. Louis Advanced Practice Nurses. Her area of interest includes abuse of vulnerable populations, educating undergraduate students in Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment, and primary care of children and adults with cognitive disabilities.
