Teaching: Dr. Schneider's primary teaching responsibilities have been research methods at the graduate level and theory development at the doctoral level, both on-site and distance.

Research: Dr. Schneider's research focus is health behavior. In the past, her National Institute of Nursing Research funded research focused on older adults' thoughts about their exercise behavior and how these thoughts can be modified to improve exercise maintenance.  Dr. Schneider has expanded her focus to include dietary behavior in middle-aged adults.  Meta-analysis is her current methodological interest.

Practice: Dr. Schneider has been a consultant on statistics and research design for health-related activities.

Professional and Scholarly Activities: Dr. Schneider is a reviewer for several professional journals and for Sigma Theta Tau International.  She is a member of Midwest Nursing Research Society and the American Nurses' Association.
