Teaching: Nichol joined the SLU School of Nursing in 2010 as an adjunct clinical instructor, later becoming a full-time faculty member in 2012. She teaches the Health Promotion across Lifespan course for the traditional and accelerated option program. She also teaches in the Health Assessment and Medication labs, along with the Adult/Older Adult clinical at Barnes Jewish Hospital and DePaul Health Center. Nichol has been practicing for 14 years as acute care registered nurse. Her experience include travel nursing, cardiovascular telephonic nursing, clinical instructor, and acute care float pool nursing. 

Practice: She continues to work at an area hospital as a float nurse on the Orthopedic, Neurology, Medical Surgical, and Telemetry units, as well as, the Step-down ICU and Interventional Radiology.
She is currently a certified Adult Nurse Practitioner. Her primary focus consist of minority cardiovascular awareness. She serves as an advocate for the American Red Cross Minority council.
