Teaching: Dr. Freed has taught in higher education for the last 20 years. She is currently teaching classes in the undergraduate and master's programs.
Research: Research interests focus on the fields of psychiatric nursing and nursing education. Implemented research topics include: (a) teaching methods (b) domestic violence and elderly women (c) suicide in acute care settings and (d) patient education in psychiatric nursing.
Professional and Scholarly Activities: Dr. Freed is active in both Sigma Theta Tau International and the American Nurses Association, Third District. She serves on Missouri's Governmental Affairs Committee and is a speaker for the Sue Scherring Institute.
