SLU Nursing Faculty Member Selected for Prestigious Institute

Joanne Langan, Ph.D., assistant professor at Saint Louis University School of Nursing, has been selected as a nursing research scholar at the prestigious Hartford Foundation Institute for Geriatric Nursing.

Langan will study the best way to communicate information about disasters to older adults whose native language isn't English. She is one of 12 post-doctoral faculty university members from across the country to participate in the intensive research seminar, where she will work with nationally recognized geriatric nursing researchers.

The goal of the program, now in its 11th year, is to enhance the contribution of nursing researchers so they can shape the quality of health care for older adults.

Higher purpose. Greater good.
