Saint Louis University School of Nursing has been a national leader in nursing scholarship since it was founded in 1928. Saint Louis University's nursing faculty is nationally recognized for their teaching expertise, nursing leadership, scholarly research and student mentorship. Throughout the years, School of Nursing faculty have played a pivotal role in advancing the growing field of nursing research and in mentoring doctoral student researchers. SLU faculty participate actively in collaborative research with faculty in other academic units of the University (e.g., School of Medicine, Doisy College of Health Sciences, College for Public Health and Social Justice, Center for Health Care Ethics) as well as with researchers at other universities, health care institutions, government and community agencies and professional organizations.
