Curricular Tracks for Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics: This is the standard track for undergraduate students. Students will qualify for becoming a Registered Dietitian after earning their degree. 

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics + Culinary Emphasis: This track offers a concentration in culinary arts. This is one of the few culinary programs in the nation that fulfils the requirements for becoming a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Culinarian. 

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics + Emphasis in Food Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RD Track): This track provides students with a strong knowledge in nutrition, culinary arts, and entrepreneurship while meeting the requirements to become a Registered Dietitian. This is a great option for students interested in sustainable food service and entrepreneurship and a love for nutrition.

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics + Emphasis in Food Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Non-RD): This track is a great option for students who are interested nutrition, entrepreneurship and sustainable food service but are not interested in becoming a Registered Dietitian.

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics on a Pre-Professional Track: This track is for students planning on continuing onto medical school or dental school who would like a strong foundation in nutrition while meeting all the requirements for medical school or other pre-professional programs.

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics on a Pre-Physician Assistant Track: This track is for students with an interest in nutrition that plan on furthering their education in Physician Assistant Education.

  • Fresh Gatherings Cafe, a cafe run by the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, allows students to gain experience that will be applicable to their professional lives. At Fresh Gatherings, our undergraduate students learn how to prepare healthy and attractive food while our interns learn personnel and financial management skills.
  • Salus Center Kitchen allows our students to be exposed to the size and quality of kitchen that they will find in their professional lives. The Salus kitchen allows students to be exposed to a broader range of large scale production equipment while being in a busy kitchen.
  • The Food Lab is a modern culinary lab for teaching food services and preparation.
