What is a registration PIN?
Some departments require students to meet with an advisor before registration. For these students, Banner will block registration until the student enters the registration PIN. New registration PINs are generated for each registration cycle and distributed to advisors and some departments.
Which students get a registration PIN?
Each college or school may decide to use or not use registration PINs.
The following use registration PINs: Arts & Sciences (undergrad), Cook School of Business (undergrad) Health Sciences (undergrad and professional, not graduate nursing), Parks, Philosophy & Letters, Public Service (undergrad), Social Work and all students in special advising programs (Academic Services, Honors, Pre-Med and Student Educational Services).
The following do not use registration PINs: Cook School of Business (Professional), Graduate School (except Public Policy), Law School, Medical School and the School for Professional Studies.
How are registration PINs distributed?
Students receive their registration PINs from their academic advisor/mentor.
