Louis Regional CLC
Fall Meeting Brief
Your regional representatives
met on October 6th at Jesuit Hall remembering in prayer our former delegate
from Philipine DuChesne, Fr. Bill Stauder, SJ. Our condolences go out
to the community of Philipine DuChesne and all Bills many other
family and friends. We welcomed our newest regional CLC group Sacred Circle
and explored with Avery Sanger the possibility of CLC in Springfield Mo.
The November pot luck gathering was planned (and executed...thanks to
all who were able to come and to the DeHarts for their hospitality).
Mary Ann Mennemeyer (314-524-4647) and Pat Carter (314-664-1863) agreed
to work with a committee to organize World CLC Day 2003. To volunteer
to help call Mary Ann or Pat. The regional reps heard reports on conferences
attended, national CLC meetings, and the status of individual local communities.
Your representatives are working
to bring our region closer together. Please continue to share your ideas
with your communitys representatives as we implement the fruits
of our discernment process.
The position of regional representative
to National CLC will become vacant in July. We are grateful to Yvonne
Dehart for filling the position on an interim basis.
All CLC members are asked to
consider their ability to serve our community in one of two positions:
Regional Secretary or Regional Representative to the National Board .
Call Peggy at 314-522-8687 if you wish to be considered. Please pray for
our region as representatives discern who will fill these important positions.

Thanks
Jack
.well miss you!
I am sad to report that Jack
Mitchell will no longer be able to serve the region as regional Secretary.
Jack has done a marvelous job in the position for the last three years.
We wish much joy and good health for both he and Jackie in the years to
come. We look forward to their joining us whenever they can.
Jacks retirement
does leave us without a regional secretary. This is an issue we will address
at the next regional board meeting. At this time I would ask for anyone
who would feel called to perform this vital service for the region to
give me a call or mention their interest to their communities regional
representative.
A special appeal to all the
regional representatives to consider this call. Pat Carter has agreed
to keep the roster and provide mailing labels for our events. This will
decrease the demands of the position. Jack has graciously offered to donate
his tape recorder to the new regional secretary to assist in the maintaining
of the minutes. Our meetings are quarterly including World CLC day which
has no formal recording of the process.
Again, Thanks to Jack for his
many years of dedication to this position. We will truly miss you.
Please consider offering your
gifts to the region as Regional Secretary.

Group
Guides Explore Project 120
Group Guides meet approximately
every six to eight weeks to assist those facilitating CLC communities
in the joys and frustrations of the movements of the Spirit! Over the
last few meetings guides took a look at Projects 120 and the concept of
mission within CLC. The publication is available in its entirety
from your group guide. Please take the time to review the document. Weve
been asked to reflect on the document at the regional and local community
levels.
The group guides led by Lynn
McLaughlin and Yvonne DeHart took the initiative and introduced us to
related key points coming out of the National CLC conference held in here
in St. Louis last July. The following is a summary (of a summary !) of
this discussion at the National level
..let it lead you as you consider
the implications of this project within your own community.
What is meant by common Mission?
- It may or may not be a common
activity
- It is not just a common
frame of mind among individuals,
- But it is a shared RESPONSIBILITY
How do we share responsibility
in our mission
..
We Discern,
Send, Support and Reflect!
The individual
discerns and shares/includes other group members in his/her discernment
process to either choose or continue their mission. This is aided by daily
use of the Examen and by each member sharing a single sentence identifying
what God is revealing to them or moving them towards.
The group members
then send or commission the individual in the discerned ministry-just
as Jesus sent out his disciples. This ministry might be a
doctor caring for ill patients or a mother caring for her children.
Group members actively support each other in their ministry. For example,
visiting with the member on the job for just a cup of coffee
can witness that this individual is not alone!
Periodically individuals
will reflect on their mission experiences with group members to evaluate
where God is present in their current ministry or directing them to move
in the future.
One last question
for reflection: How will this change CLC as we know it today?
