CALL FOR PAPER & POSTER ABSTRACTS

for the

15th Annual Graduate Student Association

RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM

This year's deadline for abstract submission is 10:00am on Friday, March 20, 2009.

About the Symposium

The Annual Graduate Student Association Research Symposium of Saint Louis University is held each year during the spring semester, usually late March or April. This year's symposium will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009, in the BSC Multipurpose Rooms 170-173. The GSA Research Symposium is an event open to all SLU Graduate School students. Every department within The Graduate School is encouraged to participate in this interdisciplinary forum. Each year’s paper and poster presentations are divided into categories based on the distribution of the participants.  Judges are selected from SLU faculty to represent the variety of disciplines. Monetary awards are given to the first, second, and third place papers and posters in each category.

Guidelines for Paper & Poster Abstract Submisisons

1. Students may be first author/presenter on only 1 submission.
2. Abstracts must be titled (in the same way as poster/paper presentation).
3. Follow the sample heading below.  This should be the first line of your abstract document.

(Title of project in capitals), (authors’ names underlined, listing presenter first), (department), (school, if appropriate), Saint Louis University.

Example:
GRADUATE STUDENTS AND ENTERTAINMENT, J.C. Party, P. O. Study, and G. R. Fun, Department of Management, School of Business, Saint Louis University.

4. Please provide the following contact information:

  • Name of Presenter/Author (s)
  • Campus Address
  • Phone Number
  • E-mail Address

5. Indicate whether the abstract is for poster or paper submission.
6. Abstract should be no longer than 250 words, not including title and authors.
7. All abstracts must be in Microsoft Word format, with Times New Roman font, size 12, Normal text.
8. No later than 10:00am on Friday, March 20, 2009, send your electronic abstract submission as an attachment to:

Additional Submission Info

  • You must submit your abstract electronically, via e-mail attachment, in Microsoft Word format.
  • There is no submission fee for abstracts and/or completed papers.
  • Paper and poster abstracts must be submitted within the guidelines above for consideration and inclusion in the Research Symposium program.
  • Posters should be 4' x 6'.
  • PLEASE DO NOT ATTACH YOUR ENTIRE PAPER.
  • Notification of acceptance of abstracts will be sent no later than Friday, March 27, 2009 along with detailed guidelines for poster or paper presentations.
  • A printed program of abstracts will be provided at the symposium.
