VII.            Angela Batie – Campus ministry

·        Angela once again came to the meeting to make grad students aware of the plans for the spring regarding her efforts to bring campus ministry into the lives of grad students. She spoke about a grad student speed dating session, that she is planning on holding toward the end of Feb, a great way to meet students from other depts and socialize. Any student who sends her an email of interest will receive information regarding the event. She also announced an upcoming retreat and prayer session – the weekend of Feb 8 – 10, along with the opportunity to join the SLU community on the service trip to New Orleans over spring break – Mar 15-24. Angela noted that there has been an overall interest shown by graduate students to be more involved in campus life with other grad students, and she is excited to continue to facilitate these events. X.                 New Business

·        Exec board member, Johnnie Moore brought to the attention the confusion surrounding some of the deadline dates for those Masters and Doctoral students who are planning on graduating this semester. Feb 1 is the absolute deadline for the application and intent to graduate to be into the candidacy advisors, and Mar 3 is the deadline for all PhD dissertation drafts to be in, though changes can be made until May 12 when the final document is due. Terri noted that the Graduate School’s website has all of the information listed, and if there is any confusion students should contact their respective candidacy advisor’s - Rachel Phillipone (masters) or Susan Jacobsmeyer (doctoral)
