GRADUATE STUDENT ASSOCIATION

RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM

The Annual Graduate Student Association Research Symposium of Saint Louis University will be held on Friday, April 18, 2008, in the BSC Multipurpose Rooms 170-173. The GSA Research Symposium is an event open to all SLU Graduate School students. Every department within The Graduate School is encouraged to participate in this interdisciplinary forum. This year’s paper and poster presentations will be divided into categories based on the distribution of the participants.  Judges will be selected from SLU faculty to represent the variety of disciplines

The deadline for abstract submission is 10 am on Monday, March 24, 2008.  You must submit your abstract electronically, via e-mail attachment, in Microsoft Word format only. There is no submission fee for abstracts and/or completed papers. Paper and poster abstracts must be submitted within the guidelines below for consideration and inclusion in the Research Symposium program. PLEASE DO NOT ATTACH YOUR ENTIRE PAPER.

Notification of acceptance of abstracts will be sent no later than Monday, March 31, 2008 along with detailed guidelines for poster or paper presentations. A printed program of abstracts will be provided at the symposium.

Guideline for Submission of Paper and Poster Abstracts (Poster Board size is no larger than 4’ x 6’):

1. Abstracts must be titled (should be the same title as poster/paper presentation).

2. Please provide the following information:

·         Name of Author (s)

·         Name of Presenter

·         Department

·         Campus Address

·         Phone Number

·         E-mail Address

3. Indicate whether the abstract is for poster or paper submission.

4. Abstract should be no longer than 250 words, not including title and authors.

5. All abstracts must be in Microsoft Word format, with Font: Times New Roman 12, Normal text (no body text or headline text) WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY MAC DOCS

6. Follow the sample heading below. (This should be the first line of your paper):
