KSLU Sponsors Billiken Club Bene-Fest! |

by Christine Sanely March 4th, 2008 Saint Louis University's on-campus venue, The Billiken Club, is hosting it's first festival from March 27-29. Coined as The Billiken Club Bene-Fest, they will be accepting donations for The Urban Studio, a not-for-profit community arts organization. Their mission is to use the creative process to help develop individuals' skills, build community assets, promote self-confidence, and strengthen a sense of community. In efforts to further support the local arts, The Billiken Club is also hosting a poster competition, accepting submissions for overall festival posters, and individual shows. KSLU is thrilled to be co-sponsoring this exciting event with an up-and-coming music blog, Toe Taps and Spastic Claps! While the shows will still be FREE, all ages, and open to the public, we strongly encourage individuals to donate to such a worthy cause. Check out the full lineup for The Billiken Club Bene-Fest, and make sure you make it out to at least one (if not all) of the shows. Thursday, March 27: Aloha with Anathallo and Ohtis Friday, March 28: School of Language with Bodies of Water and Riddle of Steel Saturday, March 29: British Sea Power with The 1900s and Target Market |
