ABOUT US
Established in 1991, the Rainbow Alliance at Saint Louis University is an advocacy and support group for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning students and their allies.

MISSION
Rainbow Alliance’s mission is to sponsor educational and social activities to affirm the dignity and self-worth of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning students and their allies in a manner consistent with Roman Catholic moral teaching on human sexuality and the Catholic Jesuit identity of the University.

OBJECTIVES

  • Advocacy and support for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning students and their allies.

  • Provide educational resources and events for the Saint Louis University community on GLBT issues.

  • Promote the eradication of prejudice and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

We at the Rainbow Alliance are determined and committed to maintaining trust with the members. One’s sexual orientation and the process of “coming out” can be a very stressful time, but issues of confidentiality and fear of “outing” should not prevent members or potential members from participating – and there is great benefit for members to participate, as they come into contact with people who are going through or who have gone through their situation. Participating in the group also builds bonds of friendship, as well as provide a much needed peer and social support.

If you have any further questions, or need more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Thank you.

Sincerely,
The Staff of the Rainbow Alliance at Saint Louis University
