The Presidential Scholars Program brings students with excellent academic credentials and strong leadership potential to Saint Louis University and offers those scholars the opportunity to experience, and contribute to, the full range of intellectual, social, and spiritual activities that distinguish a Saint Louis University education. In addition to the coursework in their major or majors, each scholar can expect to work with University faculty in individually designed investigative and reflective learning experiences and to be engaged in leadership and service opportunities throughout his or her undergraduate career, ie. , an ILEX.
- What ILEX's have Scholars completed in the past ?
- A nursing internship in London
- An internship in an epilepsy
treatment center in Berlin and a hospital in Madrid
- A co-op experience in information
technology
- Study abroad in Canada, France,
Mexico, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Rome.
- Service projects in Mexico,
Nicaragua, and Spain.
- Service internships in Romania
with Medical Missions and at the Flathead Indian Reservation in
a nurse screening program.
- Internships with a congressional
leader in Washington, D.C., with Amnesty International, with the
Monsanto Corporation, and in an elderly care facility.
- A service-leadership program
in Australia
- Research projects in the
Caribbean and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
- Research projects with NASA and Jet Propulsion
Lab (JPL).
- Genetics research at SLU Medical School
