IT TAKES LEATHER BALLS TO PLAY RUGBY!!!!!

Welcome to the home of the Saint Louis University Rugby Club. Established in 1957, SLU Rugby is a member of the Missouri Rugby Football Union and competes in the Western Rugby Football Union and USA Rugby's Collegiate Division 2.

A premier Club sport on the campus of Saint Louis University, SLU Rugby has won the MRFU Langenberg Cup championship and qualified for the Western Territorial Championships three times in the past seven years. SLU is currently defending MRFU champion, and will attempt to repeat in '06 and improve upon last year's 4th place finish at Westerns.

SLU plays a regional collegiate schedule with extensive travel in both the fall and spring seasons, competing against the top Division 1 and 2 Clubs in the lower Midwest.

Drawing from a strong winning tradition passed on throughout the decades by the alumni and the University, the Saint Louis University Rugby Club continually strives for success at the highest levels of athletic competition, creating an environment in which it's student-athletes can develop both as rugby players and as men for others.

If you are a current or prospective student of Saint Louis University and are interested in joining the Club, a member of another team interested in scheduling a match for the spring season, or would just like some more information about us, feel free to contact Chris George at georgecj@slu.edu

End of Fall Season

The match against Vanderbilt wraps up a busy fall season in which SLU finished up with a 7-4 record. The team now looks ahead to the spring season in which they will defend their title in the Langenburg Cup Tournament. Finally, the team sends a fond farewell to their refugees from New Orleans. Mark Duvall, Wade Swanson, Nick Dosky, and Mike Twillman all contributed greatly this season and we had a great time playing with them. We look forward to playing you guys down in New Orleans sometime this Spring.

SLU travelled to Nashville this weekend to take on Vanderbilt. Competing with an injury ridden a-side squad that started several freshman for the first time, SLU fell to a competitive Vanderbilt squad by a score of 34-19. Despite the loss, SLU competed until the very end and saw some very encouraging play out of some young players. Freshman Matt Reisinger scored two tries at outside center in his first start ever while rookies John Felbruegge, Travis Dingledine, and Kevin Moser also contributed in the starting lineup.

A group of our squad competed in the Lakefront 7's tournament this past weekened. We went 2-2 and were almost 3-1 but we lost in suddent death overtime. Great job by everyone who went up to Milwaukee. As a reminder, 7's practice with the Ramblers continues on Thursday's at 6pm. Everyone should be getting out there to stay in shape and keep their skills sharp.
