About Joseph E. Brown

Fr. Brown has taught at Saint Louis University for more than 30 years. A clinical psychologist in the Departments of Psychology, Psychiatry and Human Behavior, and Family and Community Medicine, he has directed graduate and postgraduate clinical psychology training programs and managed inpatient therapeutic programs for religious professionals in the Division of Behavioral Medicine.

Since 1975 he has also been involved in Marriage Encounter, Retorno, the Charismatic Renewal. The We and God Spirituality Center grew out of the year-long "Nineteenth Annotation" Ignation retreats which he sponsored for married couples over a period of several years. How the story of the psalms evolved forom these experiences makes fascinating reading in the introduction to the book.
