Saint Louis University’s Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology is a strong supporter of pre-college STEM programs and Project Lead the Way initiatives.
Our pre-college programs are designed to build interest in the fields of engineering and aviation among middle and high school students, and we are constantly adding new programs and events that showcase the field’s exciting possibilities.
Parks College’s summer programs introduce high school students to the latest technology and career paths in engineering, robotics and aviation.
Participants are led by Parks faculty and student mentors through hands-on activities that include taking flight in a SLU airplane, designing and building robots and off-campus field trips to meet with industry leaders.

The Saint Louis University Building Engineering Awareness in Metro St. Louis Schools — or Billiken BEAMS — event is a group-based competition open to local high-school students. Teams are challenged to design, construct and test an efficient road bridge out of balsa wood.
The competition aims to motivate students to pursue engineering careers in order to promote a diverse and strong engineering workforce.
