Program in Athletic Training

Athletic training encompasses the prevention, diagnosis and intervention of emergency, acute and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities. Saint Louis University's Athletic Training Program is a direct entry into graduate-level program. Students can obtain a Master of Athletic Training degree in five years

Curricular Tracks of SLU's Athletic Training Program

Primary Track 
The primary track is a freshman entry track with three years of study in the pre-professional phase and two years in the professional phase of the program. After the fourth year you would receive a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and after your fifth year you would receive a Master of Athletic Training.

Madrid Track  
This track allows for students to study in Madrid for up to four semesters in the pre-professional phase of the Athletic Training Program.

Transfer Track 
A student who possesses a baccalaureate degree can apply directly into the professional phase of the program. They must meet the entrance standards and have the appropriate prerequisite coursework.

Pre-physician assistant track  
This is an option for students wanting to continue into Physician Assistant Education.

Pre-medicine track  
This is a great option for pre-medicine students.
