Physical Therapy Student Council

The Physical Therapy Student Council is an advocate group for all physical therapy students ranging from the freshman to the professional year. There are two representatives from each class as well as five executive officers. Everyone is welcome at the meetings. The Student Council's stated purpose is to promote the physical therapy profession at Saint Louis University as well as within the Saint Louis community; to make an available resource where students can express their ideas, comments, and suggestions; to promote unity among classmates and between classes; to help bring faculty and students closer together; and to provide service to the community.

Various activities/events demonstrate the students' commitment to professional growth, social interaction and community service. Examples of our activities include:

  • Sponsorship of students to the APTA's National Student Conclave
  • Faculty-student sponsored Ice Cream Social for the entire Health Sciences Center to celebrate National Physical
  • Therapy Month
  • Annual White Coat Ceremony
  • Physical Therapy Pride Day
  • Disabilities awareness programs at both Saint Louis University and local parochial grade schools
  • Blood drives throughout the year
  • Annual Hustle for Your Health Marathon
