Standard Application Process
Applicants who meet the admission criteria outlined above and who wish to apply are invited to submit an application to the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) between mid-April and November 1. The SLU supplemental application, found in the CASPA Program Materials section must also be completed during the same time frame.
CASPA offers PA applicants a convenient, state-of-the-art, web-based application service that allows them to apply to multiple participating PA programs by completing a single application. CASPA collects one set of materials from each applicant and then authenticates and distributes them to each member program designated by the applicant. The online CASPA application is available at portal.caspaonline.org. CASPA applications and SLU supplemental applications are reviewed beginning June 1.
Letters of reference submitted to CASPA should be from persons who know the applicant well, either professionally or academically (e.g., job supervisor, professor or academic advisor). The SLU PA Program requires three letters of reference, even though CASPA completes an application with only two references.
All electronic application materials must be recieved by CASPA no later than Nov.1 to be considered.Applicants whose native language is other than English must take the TOEFL iBT by Nov. 1.
CASPA deadlines are strict. Applicants are solely responsible for monitoring the status of all materials submitted to CASPA. The CASPA web portal is accessible 24/7, enabling applicants to track which materials have been received and which have not.
The SLU Supplemental Application is submitted through the CASPA Program Materials section. CASPA will not send your application materials to SLU without completion of this section. Payment for the supplemental application processing is made by going to SLU Marketplace. Choose ‘Doisy College - Physician Assistant'; click on the ‘Physician Assistant Education Supplemental Application Fee' to pay the non-refundable $45 processing fee. Applications completed and verified by CASPA will not be reviewed without the supplemental fee or appropriate fee waiver. A limited number of processing fee waivers will be available for applicants experiencing severe financial hardship. To be considered for a fee waiver, applicants must email a request to email@example.com. The request should outline the reasons for the request and the nature of the financial hardship. Requests must be emailed by July 31 to be considered.

Highly competitive applicants are invited to SLU for personal interviews with members of the SLU PA Program Committee on Admissions. Typically four interview dates are scheduled during each Application Cycle (in October, November, January and February), with 20 applicants invited for each date. During the interview process, applicants will also have the opportunity to speak with current PA students.
Class positions are offered on a modified rolling basis. A few class seats are filled within a couple of weeks of each interview date. If an interviewed applicant is not offered a seat immediately, the applicant is reconsidered with each interview date. Interviewed applicants not offered a class position after all four interview dates, will become part of the alternate list.
