Wine Tasting to Benefit Child Abuse Prevention, Dec. 9
ST. LOUIS - The Child Abuse Prevention Task Force of Saint Louis University School of Medicine will hold its "Sixth Annual Spirits of Giving Wine Tasting Fundraiser" from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9. The event will be held in the multipurpose room at the School of Allied Health Professions, 3437 Caroline Mall, on the Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center campus. The event will include tastes from eight excellent Missouri wineries as well as appetizers, raffle prizes and live jazz music.
Tickets are only $10 and can be purchased at Matthew's Bookstore on the Health Sciences Center campus or at the door.
Participating wineries include Buffalo Creek Winery, Hermannhof Winery, Les Bourgeois Winery, La Dolce Vita Vineyard, Meramec Vineyards, Peaceful Bend Winery and St. James Winery.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Child Abuse Prevention Task Force, a volunteer group of medical students committed to child sexual abuse prevention. Founded in 1989, the task force has developed a comprehensive educational program in collaboration with local experts. Their goal is to reduce the incidence of child sexual abuse through education of children, teachers, parents and health care professionals.
The program is endorsed by the St. Louis Board of Education, as well as Hancock, Parkway and other local school districts. The Task Force has been honored by Saint Louis University for its community service.
